Rick Mather is the Founder and Principal Consultant at Thinking Cap Consulting
Established to support a European mid-market Private Equity firm with pricing due-diligence & subsequent value creation projects, delivering an industry leading commercial strategy, Thinking Cap Consulting have since gone on to support the UK’s leading distributor of catering equipment to deliver a transformation roadmap in their pricing strategy. We are currently helping the world’s largest supplier of workplace safety equipment to develop an enterprise-level pricing capability that enables the use of dynamic product pricing to drive sustainable sales and margin growth by delivering discrete increases in gross margin % where they are undersold, grow absolute margin $s from volume they don’t win today and to maximize leverage from all revenue growth initiatives / investments in selling cost.
Previously, Rick was Vice President of Pricing & Analytics at Electrocomponents plc the world’s leading distributor of Electronic, Electrical & Industrial components, and had previously held similar roles in Retail, Hospitality & Catering and in the Travel & Tourism industry at Asda-Walmart, Principal Hotels and Thomas Cook respectively.
With over 15 years experience in driving corporate pricing strategy, building world-class pricing teams and developing commercial plans to deliver continuous growth alongside improved profitability, Rick’s skillset is of particular relevance to start-ups, SMEs and Mid Cap Companies striving for growth
